CAO’s focuses on quality-of-life issues, all contributing to vibrant and thriving communities that individuals and families want to work, live, play in.
The core of our model for community change and improvement has always been neighborhood revitalization and a forward-thinking approach to development and its impact on the communities we serve. Within the past 15 years, CAO has developed 60 units of low-income to moderate housing units in our St. Martin Village complex, and expanded its breadth and reach in underserved communities by providing services out of four community centers, two community resource centers and over 30 Head Start and Early Head Start locations in both Erie and Niagara counties.
In recent years, the CAO established the “Greater Martin Luther King, Jr. Park District,” which is a collective of businesses, block clubs, neighborhood residents, organizations and community leaders whose goal is to re-brand the residential and commercial areas in and around Fillmore Avenue. Additionally, plans are now underway to develop the site of the former Deaconess Hospital complex, a 268,000-square- foot facility located directly across from Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.
CAO’s focuses on quality-of-life issues, including the creation of walkable neighborhoods, new development, and resources for residents and businesses to improve on their properties, all contribute to vibrant and thriving communities that individuals and families want to work, live, play in. As part of our mission, we will continue to lead the effort, one neighborhood at a time.
