About The Project

"Ageless Wonders" is an immersive multimedia project based in Buffalo, NY. It incorporates photography, podcasting, documentary film, and an interactive website. The project chronicles the captivating experiences of elderly individuals from the Black community as they embark on a unique journey through the CAO of WNY program. This venture delves deeply into themes of age, experience, technology, and human connection, drawing stark contrasts between the digital and analog worlds, and between the young and the aged. It showcases a city undergoing transformation.

Documentary Film
"Ageless Wonders" is set in Buffalo, NY, where elderly individuals from the Black community participate in Vicente Rondon's negative photography workshop as part of the Senior Program at CAO of WNY. Beyond mastering the art of capturing and printing large-format photographs, participants engage in profound dialogues with Rondon about life, memory, and the past, resulting in evocative portraits. Directed by Mani Mehrvarz, this film bridges generational divides and shines a light on a city in transformation.

A Photographic Book and Exhibition - “Memento Vivere”
"Memento Vivere" emerges as a harmonious blend of a photography book and its accompanying exhibition by Vicente Rondon. The project delicately captures the resilience and spirit of elderly members of the Black community, juxtaposing their narratives against a backdrop of urban transformation. As these tales of persistence, evolution, and the harmonious interplay of eras unfold, prepare to immerse yourself in this revelation, set to debut in November 2023.

Podcast - "Voices of Buffalo"
Building on the photography project, this podcast series delves deeper into the lives of the seniors featured in the photos. Through intimate interviews, these seniors have a chance to express their life stories, share their perspectives on the project, and reflect on the differences they've observed between the analog and digital eras. Listen in to immerse yourself in their rich narratives, offering a unique auditory glimpse into the juxtaposition of times gone by and the present day.
