Yvonne Hairston, Director of Senior Services and Ageless Wonder Program, Recognized for 50 years of service to the Organization.
Yvonne Hairston is a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated and passionate employee. She is the director of Senior Services and Ageless Wonder Program, which offers a free and safe space where seniors can enjoy recreational and social activities, games, guest speakers, and fun community outings.
Yvonne joined CAO 50 years ago, and ever since then she has been committed to making a difference in the lives of others. "You can't do CAO work without a heart," Yvonne says. "The more you do, the more you are going to be asked to do and you won't regret it, because there are too many people who need our work."
The Ageless Wonder Program operates out of CAO of WNY’s Pratt-Willert Community Center on Hickory Street and Edward Saunders Unity Center on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. It is here that Yvonne and her team have been able to provide a safe and fun environment for seniors to come and enjoy. Yvonne and her team have worked hard to make sure that the program is a success, and the seniors who attend the program receive the best possible experience.
Yvonne's passion and dedication to her work is an inspiration to all of us at CAO of WNY. She is a shining example of what it means to have a heart for your job and to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Yvonne Hairston’s dedication to her work was recently recognized at the All Staff Meeting event in December 2022. After 50 years of service to the organization, she was honored with a plaque and thanked for her countless hours of hard work and dedication.
