Statement by Thomas Kim on Mass Shooting in Buffalo

Dear CAO Family:

I am deeply saddened by the tragedy that claimed innocent lives this afternoon. Hate was behind this senseless act that turned an ordinary day into tragedy and senseless death. Every life lost at the hand of this evil person was a member of our community, friend, parent to a child, brother or sister to a sibling, and daughter or son to a parent. Today (05.14.22) will be seared in our memory as a day that brought so much pain, but we will remain resolved and overcome this trauma by building a loving, healthy, and safe community despite this evil act. We will not let acts of hate prevail. We grieve as a collective family and community, and we send our thoughts and prayers to victims and their families.
